What is shea butter?

Shea butter is extracted from the nuts of the African karité tree (Vitellaria paradoxa) and has been used for centuries for skin care and protection. Rich in fatty acids (oleic acid, stearic acid, linoleic acid) and vitamins A, D, E, and F – for intensive nourishment and restoration of the skin.

Usage

Skin: Warm a small amount between the palms of your hands and massage into the skin. Preferably apply to damp skin after showering for optimal absorption. Also suitable as a night cream, after shaving, for stretch marks (pregnancy), and as a massage butter.

Hair (hair mask): Apply generously to dry hair, focusing on the ends. Leave on for 20–30 minutes and wash out with a mild shampoo. Use once a week. As a leave-in: apply a small amount to the ends.

Feet (night care): Apply generously to clean feet, massage into cracks and calluses. Put on cotton socks and leave on overnight.

Additional applications: lips (lip balm) – nails (cuticles) – hands (intensive hand cream) – tattoos (care and protection)

Storage

Store at room temperature (15–25°C). The butter may melt when warm and harden when cold – both are normal and do not affect quality. Close tightly after use. Shelf life: 2–3 years.
