Two types of true jade
Nephrite – Tougher than steel, with a waxy sheen, found in green, white, brown and black. Most historic Chinese jade is nephrite.
Jadeite – Rarer and more valuable. The most prized shade is "imperial green": an intense, almost translucent emerald green. Found mainly in Myanmar.
