Bring softness and brightness into your living space
Does your home sometimes feel heavy, or do you notice that you get tired or restless more quickly? Perhaps it's time to energetically cleanse your home. Just as we care for our bodies, our living spaces deserve loving attention too. With simple rituals, herbs, and conscious intention, you can bring lightness, peace, and clarity back into your home.
What is energetic cleansing?
Energetic cleansing is the conscious purification of the energy in your home. Old tensions, emotions, or busyness can accumulate in a space—especially if you live or work there frequently, or have had guests over. By using herbs, smoke, or rituals, you release that energy and invite new, fresh energy.
When do you clean a room?
After a move or renovation - After illness, argument or sadness - At a new phase in life - If you sleep badly or feel tense at home - Simply, as a loving monthly or weekly ritual
Which herbs can you use?
Several herbs have traditionally been used for energetic cleansing. Here are our favorites:
White Sage – Powerful purifying agent. It has a strong effect, good for deep cleansing or during transitional periods. Use with respect—less is more.
Lavender – Calming and soothing. Great for rest, loving energy, and sleep rituals.
Rosemary – Protective and energizing. Brings focus, clarity, and renewed life energy.
Palo Santo – South American "holy wood." Cleanses and fills the room with a warm, soft scent.
Step-by-step ritual: House cleansing with herbal smoke (smudging)
1. Preparation: Leave some windows open to allow old energy to escape. Take a moment to clarify your intention: what do you want to release or invite?
2. Light your herb or wood: Use a fireproof dish or abalone shell. Blow gently until smoke appears (but not a flame).
3. Move mindfully through the room: Work clockwise around the house. Let the smoke gently drift along corners, doors, mirrors, and beds.
4. State your intention (aloud or silently): "I release what no longer serves." – "May this space be filled with peace, light, and love."
5. Conclusion: Safely extinguish the herbs. Optionally, place a gemstone (e.g., selenite or black tourmaline) to anchor the energy.
Smoke-free alternatives
Not everyone likes smoke or can use it (for example, if you have asthma). Try diffusing lavender water, a salt or herbal bath for the floor, placing crystals in strategic places, or burning a ritual candle with intention.
